  5. 2 Potatoes, Cut in half and Lightly Fried (Optional)
  6. 1 Cup Fresh Peas
  7. 2 Green Chillies, Slit
  8. 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
  9. 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  10. 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  11. 1/2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  12. 1/2 tsp Dried Mango (Amchur) Powder
  13. 5-6 Curry Leaves
  14. 2 Bay leaves
  15. 2 " stick of Cinnamon
  16. 2-3 Cardamoms (small)
  17. 1 Large Cardamom
  18. 5-6 Black peppercorns
  19. 3-4 Cloves
  20. 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  21. 1/4 tsp Black Cumin Seeds (Shahjeera)
  22. 2 tbsp Curd
  23. 1/4 tbsp Turmeric powder
  24. 1 tbsp Red Chili Powder
  25. as per taste Salt
  26. as required Water,
  27. as required Coriander leaves, Finely chopped
  28. as required Deep fried onion (Birishta) for garnishing
  29. 3 tbsp Oil

Steps to make to make Prawn & Peas Pulao

  1. Clean and wash the fresh prawns. Retain the shell and keep aside.
  2. Heat the Oil in a Kadhai. Add the whole garam masala, curry leaves and slit green chillies. Add the chopped onions and fry until light brown in colour. Add the finely chopped tomatoes and ginger garlic paste. Fry until the smell of the ginger and garlic goes away.
  3. Add all the powdered spices and cook for half a minute. Add the curd to this mixture and mix well. Add the prawns, Salt and cook well for 5 mins. Add the Fresh Peas and the lightly fried Potato Halves and cook well for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Once the oil starts leaving the sides, Add hot water and let it come to a boil.
  5. Add the washed and soaked rice to the boiling water. Adjust the salt as per taste and cook until the rice is completely done.
  6. Garnish with Finely chopped fresh Coriander and deep fried onions. Serve with a wedge of lime.
