  3. Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed kadhai or handi and add the jeera, hari Elaichi, kali Elaichi and tej patta. Now add the dliced onion and sauté till the onions turn golden.
  4. Add the green chilies if using, salt and turmeric.
  5. Now add 2 cups (adjust water as per your rice quality) of water and let it come to a boil.
  6. Add the rice and cooked kala chana. Let it boil once more. Now stir the rice, lower the flame and cover it. cook the rice till it's well done and all the water is evaporated.
  7. Fluff the rice with a fork and add some green coriander.
    Serve with raita and salad.
